Adobe Premiere Pro Green Screen Effect Done in Simple Steps
CS3, CS4 or even CS5 – No matter what version of Adobe Premiere Pro, removing the green screen from video is easy. Let’s break down the steps to make this happen.
1. Green or Blue Screen Background for Chromakey – when using either green or blue screens, they are going to work the best because these two colors work best against human skin color and require the least amount of light. Make sure that the size of the screen is large enough for the project, and the screen should have no visible wrinkle. Use fabric, bed sheet or painted wall to create green screens. Avoid shiny paper that produces glare, which will cause issues during editing. Standing too close to the screen casts unnecessary shadows so avoid it.
2. Setting Up the Chromakey Lighting – this is the most important part of the whole green screen effect. Make sure there are plenty of light sources especially when shooting indoor. Hydrogen lights, room interior lights or professional lights to illuminate the room (or studio) to absolutely prevent shadows from casting on the green screen.
3. Using Adobe Premiere Pro to Edit – drag the screen into time line. Instead of Video 1, use Video 2 time line. From the left menu, choose the new background effect, drag into the new time line to layer the two projects.
4. Control Chromakey from Effects Control Panel – finally, start blending the chromakey effect to clean up the images.
CHECKLIST:
Use green or blue screen backdrop. These colors work the best against the skin color while requiring the least amount of light to make effect come true.
Provide ample light source. Lighting the background with absolutely zero shadows casting the backdrop. Do not stand too close to the screen, and if nothing works, shoot outside, preferably on overcast day.
Adobe Premiere Pro to drag the finished videos, images and marry the two using Effects Control.
